INSTRUCTION NO. 08/2010

 

  Sub: Introduction of Finance Bill 2010 : Major changes in   Central Excise, Service tax and Customs duties : Regarding.

 

Please find enclosed herewith copies of the following documents issued on the above mentioned subject:-

(i)                  Copy of D.O. letter F. No. 334/1/2010-TRU, dated 26.02.2010 issued by Joint Secretary (TRU-I), Central Board of Excise and Customs, New Delhi in respect of Central Excise.

(ii)                Copy of D.O. letter F. No. 334/1/2010-TRU, dated 26.02.2010 issued by Joint Secretary (TRU-II), Central Board of Excise and Customs, New Delhi in respect of Service Tax.

(iii)               Copy of Explanatory Notes on Customs and Central Excise.

(iv)              Copies of Central Excise Notification Nos. 3/2010-CE to 18/2010-CE, 05/2010-CE (NT) to 11/2010-CE (NT),  1/2010-M & TP & 2/2010-M & TP , dated 27.02.2010, all dated 27th February, 2010 , Customs Notifications No. 15/2010-Customs to 31/2010-Customs, 18/2010-Customs (NT) and Service Tax Notifications No. 2/2010-ST to 17/2010-ST, all dated 27th  February,2010.

 

2.         The details regarding changes in Customs duties and Central Excise duties are explained in the Explanatory Notes. You are requested to go through the Explanatory Notes, Finance Bill as well as Notifications issued in this regard carefully and bring to the notice of this office, at the earliest, any omission/error that might have crept in. If there is any doubt or difficulty on any point, you are requested to bring the same to my notice immediately, so that the same may be brought to the notice of Joint Secretary (TRU-I) and Joint Secretary (TRU-II), CBEC, New Delhi, for necessary corrective action.

 

3.         All the Deputy/Assistant Commissioners in charge of Central Excise Divisions are further directed to send the  report  in the prescribed  Proforma i.e. PBR-I to PBR-VIII  attached to the D.O. letter F. No. 334/1/2010-TRU-I, dated 26.02.2010 issued by the Joint Secretary (TRU-I), CBEC, New Delhi, by the due dates positively.
