Necessity of e-mail ID in roll out of
Automation of Central Excise and Service Tax [ACES] .

Trade and all concerned are hereby informed
that of Automation of Central Excise and Service Tax [ACES], is a project of
Central Board of Excise & Customs, Government of India, being extended to
this Commissionerate. The project provides an electronic interface with the
department and aims at reducing paper work, visits to the Departmental Offices and
improving transparency, accountability and efficiency.
2. For the
smooth functioning of the above project all assessees must have an e-mail ID.
Those assessees who have an e-mail address may inform their jurisdictional Range
of the same. Those assessees who do not have an e-mail ID and wish to take
assistance to create an e-mail ID, may please contact the respective Range
Superintendent or Inspector during office hours immediately.
3. The
concerned Range Officers will make necessary arrangements for creating an
e-mail ID on priority. The Range Officers would also assist the assessees in periodic
check of their e-mails for the next 03 months i.e. upto

Trade Associations / Chamber of Commerce and the Members of the RAC/ PGRC are
requested to bring this to the notice of their members/ constituents.
